Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

Reaching out takes trust, especially when you're asking for help for yourself or someone you love. This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have.

The short version: we use what you share to respond to you and to serve the men in our program. We don't sell it, rent it or use it for advertising.

Who we are

Reconciliation Ministries ("we," "us," "our") is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit located at 104 Beatty Downs Rd, Columbia, SC 29210. This policy covers this website, reconciliation-min.org. You can reach us about privacy at info@reconciliation-min.org or 803-727-4697.

Information you give us

We only collect personal information that you choose to send us through a form:

  • Intake form (Get Help). Your name, age, phone number and marital status, and your answers about your health, medications, mental health, hospitalizations, current substance use, legal history, child support, work experience and skills, how you heard about us, and your agreement to the program's commitments.
  • Referral form. Your name, email, phone, relationship to the man you're referring, church or organization, and how you'd like us to reach you, plus whatever you choose to tell us about him (such as his name, age, phone, where he lives, where he is right now and what he's struggling with).
  • Tour requests. Your name, email, phone, who's coming and how many, preferred dates and times, and any message.
  • Contact and volunteer messages. Your name, contact details and message.
  • Email sign-up. Your first name, email address and which updates you'd like to receive (newsletters, prayer requests or all communications).

Please only share what you're comfortable sharing. If you'd rather not use a form, you can always call us at 803-727-4697.

Information collected automatically

Our website platform keeps simple visit statistics so we can see which pages are helpful. For each page view it records the page address, the site that linked you here, your browser type and language, and an approximate country based on your device's time zone. It does not record your IP address for these statistics. It uses a random session ID, stored in your browser for about 30 minutes, so one visit is counted once. It does not identify you personally.

Like any website, the servers that deliver our pages, fonts and embedded map receive standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to work. Our Cookie Policy describes this in more detail.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your message, request or referral.
  • To review intake applications, talk with you about eligibility, and follow up.
  • To arrange tours and connect volunteers and groups with ways to serve.
  • To send the newsletters or prayer updates you asked for.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Health, substance use and legal information

Intake answers about health, mental health, substance use and legal history are sensitive, and we treat them that way:

  • They are stored in a password-protected staff system. Only Reconciliation Ministries staff with their own individual accounts can view them.
  • They are left out of the email notifications our staff receive when an application comes in. Those emails include only basic contact details.
  • We don't share them outside the ministry without your permission, except when required by law or when we believe it's necessary to protect someone's safety.

Reconciliation Ministries is a residential recovery and discipleship program, not a clinical treatment center. If you have questions about how your intake information will be used, please call us before you submit it.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • Service providers who run the site for us. Our website is hosted on Floot, which stores form submissions in a secure database and delivers notification emails to our staff. If you sign up for email updates, we may also add your name and email to the email service we use to send newsletters. These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us.
  • Donations. Gifts are processed by Qgiv on its own secure pages. Your payment details go to Qgiv, not to this website, and Qgiv's privacy policy applies to the information you give there. Qgiv shares donor details with us so we can thank you and send receipts.
  • Legal and safety reasons. When required by law, court order or other legal process, or when needed to protect the safety of a person or the rights of the ministry.
  • With your permission. For example, if you ask us to coordinate with a family member, church or another program.

Other websites and embedded content

Our Contact page shows an embedded Google Map, and the site loads fonts from Adobe Fonts and Google Fonts. We also link to Qgiv, Facebook, Instagram and Google Maps. These services may receive your IP address and browser details and are governed by their own privacy policies. We aren't responsible for how other websites handle your information.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the reason it was collected. Intake, referral and tour records are kept while we're working with you and afterward as part of our program and ministry records. Email sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email, or by emailing info@reconciliation-min.org.
  • See, correct or delete the information we hold about you by contacting us. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we'll respond within a reasonable time. In some cases we may need to keep certain records, for example to meet legal obligations.
  • Limit cookies and site data through your browser settings, as described in our Cookie Policy.

How we protect information

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Form submissions are stored in a secured database, and staff access requires an individual account and password. No website or database is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Children

This website is intended for adults, and our residential program serves men 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
